Taylen Day
Taylen graduated with a from the University of Arkansas in May 2023 with a 4.0 GPA and Bachelor’s degree in psychology. All as a first generation student. She plans on attending medical school and serving as a physician on a Native American reservation and is particularly passionate about helping women living in reservations. She received an incredible scholarship to attend the University of Arkansas in part due to her unique ability to persevere through any challenge before her and her incredibly high standards. While at Arkansas, she served as President of the Volunteer Action Center and successfully defended her honors thesis: “A Meta-Analysis of the Correlation Between Historical Trauma and Health Outcomes in the Native American Population.” She was also recognized as one of 71 Seniors of Significance by the Arkansas Alumni Association. In her gap year before attending medical school, Taylen first went back to her home reservation of Rosebud to serve with Massachusetts General Hospital’s Rural Health Academic Partnership with the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. Now she is working as a medical scribe in Fayetteville.
