Tori Thunder

Tori is a currently a junior with a goal of running and operating a business on either her home reservation of Cheyenne River or Rosebud. She recognizes that there are minimal opportunities for Native American entrepreneurs due to the lack of capital and wants to one day break this barrier and create economic growth. She wants to motivate other Native Americans to follow her lead in breaking barriers and generational trauma. She is a woman of action, and when she has a goal, she achieves it, and this incredible motivation comes from her two daughters. She also derives motivation from a woman’s ceremony she attended where she learned how powerful Lakota woman are and the duty to relatives that comes with being one. One of the elders told her: “No matter where the journey of life takes you, you will always stand out amongst others because of you powerful your spirit is; you are the future of your people. You spirit will always bring you back to your cultural upbringings.”
