Carlee Olson

Carlee is a currently a senior pursuing her ASN nursing degree. She began her higher education journey at Mitchell Technical Institute where she earned an associate degree in medical assisting. This initially led her to become a medical assistant at her hometown clinic in Rosebud. This fit perfectly because she wants to help her fellow tribal members in any way possible because she sees that they just do not get the care that they need. There is only so much you can do as a medical assistant, so this led her to pivot to nursing. It has also always been her life goal to be a nurse ever since she received such loving care from nurses after having surgery. She told her parents she will be a nurse after having that surgery. She will be as phenomenal a nurse as she was a medical assistant. At the clinic in Rosebud she was known as the “jack of all trades” because she learned how to do everything incredibly well: x-rays, lab orders, shots, and more. She is a fast learner that loves doing new things and will thrive as an RN.
